Today…activities launch "Cairo Forum for Heritage and Traditional Crafts – My Hands" In Andalusia Park
The activities of the “Cairo Forum for Heritage and Traditional Crafts – Ayadi Bilady” begin today. In the historic Andalusia Park, within the framework of the activities of the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum, with wide participation of those interested in handicrafts and heritage under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Cairo Governorate.
Dr. Ahmed confirmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, said that the Ministry was keen to take advantage of the opportunity of Egypt hosting the World Urban Forum, which will be held from 4 to 8 November 2024, With the aim of shedding light on the rich Egyptian heritage of traditional crafts, and introducing Egyptian guests from all over the world to these crafts that span centuries. This comes within the Ministry’s efforts to preserve the heritage identity and support handicrafts, as the forum will witness live performances and interactive workshops that highlight the skill of Egyptian craftsmen.
The Minister of Culture explained that the It will be held in Al-Andalus Park after a comprehensive development process, indicating that the park, which is the first park registered as a monument in Egypt, will host the forum to reflect its role in the memory of many generations.
And from The various sectors of the Ministry of Culture, such as the Cultural Development Fund, the Fine Arts Sector, and the General Authority for Culture Palaces, are scheduled to participate in enriching the activities of this event.
