The head of the Egyptian Space Agency stresses the importance of Earth observation data in facing global challenges
Dr. Sherif Sedqy, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, stressed the importance of Earth observation data in supporting strategic decision-making, and its effective role in confronting global challenges such as climate change.

Sedqi pointed to Egypt’s pioneering role in developing a strong infrastructure for monitoring space debris and designing and manufacturing satellites. He stressed that Egypt is working to achieve sustainable development goals in accordance with Vision 2030.
During the conference activities, the CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency participated in a number of important meetings, most notably the General Assembly meeting of the International Astronautical Federation, where he represented Egypt as a member. Active in the Union.
The meeting reviewed the statistics of the Union’s members and the most prominent developments in the space sector, including the increase in funding and the number of members during the last decade, and the offers submitted by countries wishing to host the next edition of the conference were also reviewed.
