The Foreign Minister confirms Egypt’s support for Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, affirmed on Monday Egypt’s support for the unity of the Yemeni state, the integrity of its lands, and the independence of its institutions, noting the importance that the security and stability of Yemen represents for Egyptian national security and the Red Sea region. 

This came during the meeting held today by the Minister of Foreign Affairs with Hans Grundberg, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, according to what was stated by Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

< p>During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed Egypt’s support for all efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis in a way that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people and ends their human suffering, in accordance with the terms of reference of the Yemeni National Dialogue, the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the Yemeni consultations in Riyadh, and the relevant Security Council resolutions.
