Today, Tuesday, the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments launched the “Return of the Katateeb” initiative. Under the patronage of Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, to memorize the Holy Qur’an, learn its meanings, and learn about the origins of the Islamic religion through the Al-Azhari Central Curriculum at the hands of a selected elite of memorizers, and to attract and protect young people, within the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building.”
The initiative was launched from the house of Sheikh Mahmoud Abu Amer, in the village of Kafr El-Sheikh Shehata, Tala Center in Menoufia Governorate. In the presence of: Dr. Mohamed Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Menoufia Endowments Directorate; Dr. Nabil Kamal, representative of civil society organizations; Sheikh Musaad Muhammad Al-Jabali, Director of the Al-Azhariya Talla Administration; Sheikh Ahmed Al-Deeb, General Director of Qur’anic Affairs in the Menoufia Al-Azhariya region; Sheikh Ahmed Al-Muzain, the first director of Qur’anic affairs; Sheikh Yasser Ghanem, Director of the Tala Endowments Department, a number of religious leaders in the governorate, and a large gathering of the village’s people.
At the beginning, Dr. Muhammad Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Menoufia Endowments Directorate, welcomed the attendees, stressing that the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments seeks to preserve On the Egyptian state of recitation; To graduate skilled memorizers who are proficient using contemporary methods to memorize the Holy Qur’an and learn the rulings on its recitation.
The Undersecretary of the Menoufia Endowments Directorate added that the Ministry of Endowments is making great efforts to restore the authentic writings in a modern way according to the moderate Al-Azhari curriculum. To protect young people from extremism and nurture distinguished talents, in addition to graduating generations of giants in reading the Holy Qur’an, as this is a main focus of the Ministry of Endowments’ vision and its goals for building humanity.
In his speech, Dr. Nabil Kamal, representative of civil society organizations, expressed, His sincere thanks to Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments; For his kindness in sponsoring the initiative to return the scribes to the villages and countrysides to memorize the Book of God through modern technological means, hoping that the idea will reach every home in the village so that it will be a good gesture that will be spread throughout Egypt.
