The Deputy Minister of Tourism participates in the opening ceremony of the first session of the Damietta Festival

Youmna Al-Bahar, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, participated in the opening ceremony of the activities of the first session of the Damietta Festival, which was opened by Professor Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, and will be held during the period from 1 to 9 of this November.

Damietta Governorate organizes this festival in coordination with a number of ministries, including the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, which provided literary sponsorship for the festival and contributes to efforts to promote it, in addition to a number of private sector institutions and companies.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Hamdan Rabie, President of Damietta University, Engineer Shaima Al-Siddiq, Deputy Governor of Damietta, Dr. Soha Bahjat, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Training Affairs, and a number of governorate leaders and members of the two councils. Representatives and Senators.

 

During the opening ceremony, Professor Youmna Al-Bahar gave a speech in which she reviewed the ancient history of the governorate, its many aspects of distinction, and the distinguished tourist and archaeological components that the governorate enjoys.

 

She also expressed her happiness for the participation of the people of the governorate in the launching ceremony of the activities of this festival, which offers a unique mix of diverse activities that contribute to highlighting the rich cultural, historical and artistic heritage of Egypt, and involves citizens in sports, entertainment and artistic activities. And different cultural aspects, as well as highlighting the commercial opportunities, industries and other components that the governorate abounds in and that have contributed to shaping its identity throughout the ages.  

 

The Deputy Minister indicated Holding such festivals and placing them on the national events agenda is a matter of great importance, given the role that these festivals play in highlighting the capabilities and attractions that Egypt enjoys in its various regions, and providing citizens with the opportunity to enjoy them through a series of diverse entertainment events and activities. This is in addition to its contribution to efforts to preserve the sustainability of heritage, deepen and consolidate concepts of identity, and encourage tourism, especially local ones.

 

She added that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities seeks through its strategy To achieve economic tourism security, diversify tourism products, raise tourism and archaeological awareness, and highlight the rich and unique diversity that characterizes Egypt, pointing out that the Damietta Festival is a model that reflects these goals, and thanked and appreciated everyone who contributed to organizing this event and helped bring it to light.

 

The Deputy Minister concluded her speech by thanking and appreciating the Governor of Damietta for his kind invitation to attend the launching ceremony of the activities of this festival, expressing her best wishes to His Excellency and to those in charge of the festival for continued success and success in all endeavors. They carry out their tasks, wishing them the success of the festival and its continuation for many years and that it will witness development over the years.

Within the framework of the festival’s activities, the Deputy Minister participated in inspecting the historic Damietta Bridge (Civilization Bridge), in addition to inspecting one of the educational seminars held there about photography, and in Check out the photo exhibition, and at the opening of the drawing exhibition for Egyptian talents, which was organized in the Al-Jarbi area in the city of Ras El-Bar, as it includes a number of old photographs that date the city as one of the oldest cities in Egypt, as well as a group of artistic works of photographs and drawings presented by a group of Students at the College of Fine Arts reflect the beauty of the charming nature that characterizes the city and its diverse tourist and archaeological components.
