Secretary of Islamic Research: Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is an extension of the approach of the Messenger of God in consolidating human brotherhood
Dr. Muhammad al-Jundi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, stressed the importance of human brotherhood as an indispensable existential necessity, and that this rule, which Islam established throughout the ages and was built by our Master, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, would have turned human life into a jungle, where the strong devour the weak.
His Eminence added during his speech today, Wednesday, in a symposium on “Human brotherhood…an existential necessity.” At Al-Azhar Mosque, there is no doubt that human brotherhood is an inevitable necessity to maintain the stability of human society, and without it, life is annihilated. Our Master, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, embodied this meaning by visiting sick non-Muslims, and the Medina Document was the best witness to that brotherhood that established righteousness and fairness in dealings.
His Eminence continued that the Holy Qur’an affirmed these lofty principles in its call for racial unity. Humanity, where God Almighty said: “O mankind, indeed We created you from a male and a female,” to clarify that all people are from one source, which is dust, so we are all from Adam, and Adam is from dust, and there are no people in the human system who were created from gold and others who were created from silver, so everyone is from Adam and Adam. From dust. Hence, the lofty human values that bring people together without discrimination are evident, and they are the values that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, established in all his dealings.
Dr. Al-Jundi pointed out that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is considered an extension of this prophetic approach in establishing human brotherhood, as it continues The famous dome of Al-Azhar catches its lights from the green dome in Medina, and these lights were represented by its knowledge and morals, which established these values in word and deed. Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, throughout its long history, was and still is a platform for spreading these principles, as our master Imam Al-Maraghi broadcast the voice of Al-Azhar in… The concept of peaceful coexistence between religions at the Conference of Religions held in Brussels in 1936 AD, and after that, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Daraz at the Conference of Religions in France in 1939 AD. Al-Sharif continued this role in the Human Fraternity Document signed by His Eminence the Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, with Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, in Abu Dhabi in 2019 AD, to prove to the whole world that Al-Azhar will always remain supportive of the principles of peace and peaceful coexistence among people.
The “Islamic Dawa Week” meetings, which were held beginning on Saturday and concluded their activities today within the Al-Azhar Mosque, come within the framework of the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, entitled “A New Beginning for Human Building.” It aims to prepare an intellectual map that addresses the development of the human being in all its intellectual, doctrinal and social aspects, and to consolidate the system of values, morals and ideals in society, with the participation of an elite group of Al-Azhar scholars.
