Madbouly witnesses a signing ceremony "Planning" A letter of intent for cooperation with the World Economic Forum
Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly witnessed today, Wednesday, the signing ceremony of Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, of a letter of intent with the World Economic Forum.
This came on the sidelines of Madbouly’s participation on behalf of President Abdel Fattah. Al-Sisi, at the World Economic Forum “Davos 2025” activities. In Switzerland, in order for the Ministry to cooperate with the Forum in preparing and implementing the “Economic Growth and Development Catalyst” In Egypt, the ministry was appointed as its co-chair, in the presence of Klaus Schwab, founder and president of the World Economic Forum.
The World Economic Forum had launched the Future Growth Initiative during the annual meeting in Davos in 2024, which is an initiative to reformulate Global standards on growth, and support decision makers in achieving a better balance between quantity and quality of growth.
Future growth accelerators provide a unique opportunity to drive action at the state level and create growth strategies together, and bring together ministers, CEOs and senior leaders, via The public and private sectors, academia and civil society to advance balanced growth.
In this context, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat explained that signing the letter of intent comes within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to cooperate with the Forum in preparing and implementing the “Economic Growth and Development Catalyst.” In Egypt, acting as its co-chair, as well as collaborating with other co-chairs, to define the strategic direction and act as an advocate for the accelerator, consistent with the strategic priorities of the Ministry.
For his part, through "Klaus Schwab" He welcomed the strategic relations between Egypt and the Forum, which have witnessed development over the past years and are expanding to include the signing of the letter of intent to stimulate economic growth and development in Egypt.
He explained that according to the letter, the Forum will seek to work closely with the delegates of the co-chairs. In the Ministry to prepare and implement the "Economic Growth and Development Catalyst" In Egypt, by leveraging the insights of the Center for New Economy and Society, in addition to collaborating and providing regular updates to the Ministry and the local coordinator on additional useful information and resources available, through the Forum platform, while designing workshops to support country-level implementation of the World Economic Forum’s insights as part of Completing the project, stressing that the necessary support will be provided to the Ministry and the local coordinator to face any challenges in this regard.
