Lara Worthington confirms she will be relaunching her beauty brand

If you came of age around 2013 or thereabouts, you’ll remember Lara Worthington’s beauty brand, The Base. It consisted of a single tinted moisturiser, ‘The LB Cream’ that was aligned with Lara’a own beauty aesthetic — natural, glowing, almost raw skin. She was a celebrity beauty brand founder before celebrity beauty brand founders were a thing, and the formula developed a cult following.

After a few years, it tapered off slightly, before relaunching as a not for profit with an expanded shade range, Share The Base. And then it was gone. Long-time fans were disappointed, me included. It was one of the few tinted formulas that felt intuitive, effective but easy. But about a year ago, Lara teased it was coming back. Details were vague, but based on her Instagram and Substack, it seemed she was relaunching her brand in a big way — colour, pigment, metallics… much more than just tinted moisturiser. It’s been a minute between updates, but yesterday Lara shared that The Base, or her newly fledge beauty brand, will finally be available in 2025. She follows an ‘ommage beauty‘ on Instagram— maybe that’s it?

Worthington is the blueprint for Australian beauty: fresh skin tempered with considered pops of colour, a blue nail, red lip, chrome shadow… She’s shared a lot of beauty recommendations in the last few months: Fara Homidi compacts, CHANEL eye quads, Bottega Veneta fragrance. She’s got exceptional taste. We’ve also seen some presumed teasers for all that’s to come, it looks good (see here, here and here).

So if you were and still are a die hard fan of her glowy/bronze-y/beachy skin tint, you can sleep easy knowing it’s less than six months away. And if you’ve never tried it, know that Lara gets it, and we’re excited for whatever she puts into the world.

In the interim some easy, RUSSH-approved tinted moisturisers to see you through.
