Egypt in the eyes of its children within the activities of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs at the book fair

The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, headed by Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, launched the first cultural salon under the title “Egypt in the Eyes of Its Children,” with the participation of an elite group of writers and specialists in children’s literature. This is within the framework of the activities of the fifty-sixth Cairo International Book Fair.

 

The scriptwriter Walid Kamal, member of the Egyptian Writers Union, participated in the salon; And writer and critic Mustafa Ghanayem, editor-in-chief of the World Literature Series for Children and Young Adults. The meeting was moderated by the young media personality, Hoor Shafiq, who dazzled the audience by managing the dialogue with confidence and skill, saying: “I am proud to be part of this special event that highlights children’s creativity and their vision for their country.”

 

< p> Speaking about Egypt, screenwriter Walid Kamal said: “Egypt is a source of inspiration for all of us, and it is a country of civilization and history, and children’s literature represents one of the Important means of consolidating these values ​​among new generations." He added: “Through literature, children can express their feelings toward their homeland, and this event opens the door for them to interact with stories and anecdotes revolving around Egypt and its beautiful reality.”

 

For his part, Writer Mustafa Ghanayem said: “Egypt is always at the heart of literature, and children’s literature is the field through which we can instill feelings of love and belonging in their souls.” We are working to enhance the image of Egypt in the eyes of its children through books and literary content directed to them, and this type of event contributes greatly to developing their national awareness.”

 

The participants in the salon praised The role of Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments – President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, in supporting culture and promoting the values ​​of national belonging through these pioneering initiatives. They also praised the organizational efforts led by Professor Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Rahim al-Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the Council, which contributed to the success of this event and its honorable outcome.

 

The salon aims to shed light on The importance of children’s literature in shaping the awareness of rising generations, and promoting the values ​​of patriotism and belonging, to be a distinct step towards more cultural events that enrich the Egyptian cultural scene. Preacher Mervat Ramadan was keen to coordinate with Dr. Hoda Hamid to ensure that the largest number of children attended the cultural salon. After the meeting, the children were taken to the wing of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs to view its publications, and Al-Firdous magazine was distributed to the participating children.
