Charles Barkley gives scathing verdict on ‘stupid’ Democrats after heavy election loss to Donald Trump

Charles Barkley has offered a withering assessment of the Democratic Party, labelling them ‘stupid’ after their heavy election defeat by Donald Trump.

Republican candidate Trump secured a second term in the White House earlier this month with a dominant victory over vice president Kamala Harris.

The president-elect won every single battleground state while Harris failed to flip any red states from Joe Biden’s 2020 victory over Trump.

In the wake of such a heavy loss, the Democrats have come under severe scrutiny for their flawed strategy on the campaign trail.

Barkley, the 1993 NBA MVP and TNT analyst, labeled the party ‘stupid’ and blasted their non-existent plan to secure votes.

Speaking on ‘The Steam Room’ podcast, he said: ‘We still haven’t solved the immigration problem… never addressed inflation.

‘Bringing all these stupid stars out to rally the vote, what was that?

‘I love Beyonce. That ain’t gonna make me vote a certain type of way… you guys lost because y’all stupid.

‘It’s all our faults for not having a game plan. We’re not having concerts and rallies.

‘People want solutions, they want money in their pocket, they want the border secure.’

Barkley, an Independent who voted for Harris this time around, told Democrats to respect the result and ‘shut the f*** up’.

He continued: ‘I wish him nothing but the best, but we lost. And I just want to say this to the Democrats: I’m an Independent who voted Democratic.

‘Do me this favor, shut the f*** up. When you win, you get to say what you want to. When you lose you need to shut the hell up.

‘I don’t think everybody who voted for Trump is racist or whatever. I’m not a fan of the guy, but he’s the president. I’m gonna have to respect the office.’

Barkley is not the only basketball media personality to criticize the Democrats in the days since Trump’s resounding win.

Stephen A. Smith claimed Harris and her celebrity endorsers like Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey were guilty of alienating voters.

The Trump critic and ESPN host blamed the pair’s rhetoric, in part, for creating division between men and women. In particular, Smith was upset that the former First Lady told an audience that ‘a vote for [Trump] is a vote against us.’

‘If we don’t agree with you, we’re against you?’ Smith questioned.

‘How do you think the men felt about that? So we have to do what you tell us to do; otherwise, we’re anti-you? You thought that worked? Do y’all know anything about most men? You think that’s going to work?’

Smith also said on his podcast that the Harris campaign used ‘guilty’ to manipulate ‘everyday people’ ‘into voting for her.

To bolster his point, Smith played a clip of Winfrey hinting at an anti-democratic takeover of the United States in the event of a Trump victory.

‘This is the kind of stuff that alienates an electorate, alienates a voter,’ Smith said.

‘Because the freedom that you tell them you have, you try to confiscate morally by letting them know, you ain’t worth a damn unless you vote the way we say you should vote.

‘Who’s going to go for that in a general election? With an economy rife with inflation, with over 12 million people crossing the border?’

Smith was later roundly ridiculed after he suggested on The View that he could one day run for the presidency.
