Bin Farhan confirms that the Middle East looks forward to a better future despite the current challenges
Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in a plenary session entitled “Diplomacy in Times of Chaos,” within the sessions of the World Economic Forum 2025, held in the Swiss city of Davos.
The Minister confirmed During his participation in the session, the Foreign Ministry stated that the Middle East region possesses enormous potential that qualifies it to look toward a better future, despite all the challenges it faces and the risks it has witnessed recently, and he pointed out that the current developments in Syria Lebanon and the Gaza Strip appear positive and call for optimism.
With regard to the Syrian issue, he explained that the Syrian people have great capabilities and enormous resources, which provides a real opportunity to move Syria towards a very positive path, stressing the importance of the international community’s participation. In promoting this and supporting the Syrian people to achieve a better future vision.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that the Kingdom noticed a strong desire from the new Syrian government to communicate with partners in the region and the international community, citing the meeting. Which brought him together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the new Syrian administration in Riyadh, and his participation as well in the Riyadh meetings on Syria hosted by the Kingdom last week.
He stressed the importance of lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria to enable everyone to provide assistance to the brotherly Syrian people, as well as He pointed out that the Kingdom took the initiative to provide early humanitarian and relief aid as part of its efforts to alleviate the human suffering in Syria.
With regard to the Lebanese issue, he considered that the election of a new president for Lebanon after a long period From the political vacuum “is a very positive matter,” stressing the need for Lebanon to continue implementing serious reforms that reflect its aspiration towards a better future, and expressing his hope that the Lebanese themselves will take responsibility for making decisions that push their country towards a different, more stable path.
