On behalf of Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, today, Samia Sami, Head of the Central Administration of Tourism Companies at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, participated in the press conference to announce the launch of the “Sands of the New Valley Baha 2024” competition. Which was held at the headquarters of the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club in the downtown area.
This competition is scheduled to be held for the first time in the Dakhla and Kharga oases in the New Valley Governorate during the period from 20 to 24 of this November. Under the auspices of the Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities, Youth and Sports, and the New Valley Governorate, and under the supervision of the Egyptian Car and Touring Club.
Samia Sami began her speech during the press conference by conveying Greetings from Mr. Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and his wishes for the success of this important tourism event, expressing her happiness at her participation today in this conference.
She indicated that organizing this competition is an important step towards revitalizing and promoting sports tourism and environmental tourism as two types of tourism. And the various tourism products that characterize the Egyptian tourist destination, and it also sheds light on the tourism components of the distinguished tourist governorates and cities in Egypt, including the New Valley Governorate.

Samia Sami expressed the Ministry’s keenness, in light of its current strategy, to highlight the diversity that characterizes the Egyptian tourist destination, as it is full of many distinct tourism products and types that qualify it to be the first tourist destination in the world in terms of the diversity and distinction of these tourism types and products.
She pointed out that the Ministry seeks with continuous efforts to stimulate the types of sports, desert and environmental tourism, especially since it is considered a type of sustainable tourism that has a major role in developing local communities and surrounding areas and creating job opportunities. She stressed the Ministry’s keenness to cooperate with all ministries, agencies, various entities and partners from the private sector to sponsor and organize many activities and events, including organizing this competition.
