The Ministry of Health and Population organized a visit by the World Bank delegation to Fayoum Governorate, to inspect a number of health facilities and projects, within the framework of following up on the activities of the “Health System Development in Egypt” project. Funded by the World Bank.
The visit began with an inspection of the Behmo village family health unit, during which the important role played by rural women pioneers in enhancing community awareness about health issues was reviewed. Reviewing the activities of the Women’s Health Club and the handmade products that are produced, in addition to visiting the family planning clinic and emphasizing the importance of the visiting doctor’s activity in providing medical services.
During the visit, the availability of reproductive health means (especially long-term), which was reviewed, was reviewed. Providing it from the project budget, the visit also included a tour of the main blood bank and follow-up on the availability DNA testing devices and reagents, as the main blood bank is one of 11 centers that will be mechanized within the project activities.
The visit included an inspection of a bus equipped for blood donation campaigns – within the project – which provides all standard and international procedures to ensure the comfort of donors. And their safety. The delegation also went to visit Fayoum University Hospital and Fayoum International Hospital, to follow up on the presidential initiative to end waiting lists.
The delegation listened to an explanation from officials of the presidential initiative to end waiting lists, to which the project will contribute part of its funding, as the presentation included The medical services provided by the initiative are of the highest quality to all patients equally, without burdening citizens with any financial burdens, in order to provide a decent life for Egyptians
At the end of the visit, World Bank officials expressed their appreciation for the presidential initiatives aimed at improving… Health services in Fayoum Governorate, stressing the bank’s keenness to continue cooperation with such projects throughout Egypt.
