The Medicines Authority confirms the provision of a national stock to secure diabetes and effervescent medications
Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, head of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, confirmed that all types of pharmaceuticals have been provided for all therapeutic groups, the most important of which are diabetes treatment preparations and various effervescents, in the local market since last July until now, with the completion of the authority’s receipt of any complaints about them.
The head of the Egyptian Medicines Authority said that approximately 9 and a half million packages of diabetes treatment preparations were pumped, including more than 2 million and 100 thousand packages of Mixtard Vial, about 350 thousand packages of Lantus, and more than 2 million and 600 packages. One thousand packages of Insulinagypt vial.
More than 2 million and 300 thousand packages of other preparations representing different types of insulin were also pumped. The Chairman of the Authority added that quantities of diabetes treatment medications containing metformin were increased to approximately 2 million. 200 thousand packages of preparations containing metformin, and there is a stock of raw material sufficient to manufacture more than 6 million packages of diabetes treatment medications. The head of the Egyptian Medicines Authority continued that as for effervescents, about 2 million and 600 thousand packages of Urivin-N Eff have been produced. And approximately one million packages of Urosolvin, and there are about 325 thousand packages under production, and more than 800 thousand packages of Epimag Eff, and there are about 316 thousand packages under production, and there is a stock of raw material sufficient to manufacture more than 11 million packages.< /p>
For his part, Dr. Yass Rajai, Assistant Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, confirmed that all preparations for these therapeutic groups were distributed to all pharmacies in all governorates, and their availability was confirmed with all distributors nationwide to ensure continued supplies of these preparations.< /p>
The Assistant Chairman of the Authority added that the raw materials necessary to manufacture all diabetes treatment preparations and effervescents have been provided in all local factories, and the ongoing manufacturing plans and processes are being followed up to ensure that any shortcomings of these complete therapeutic groups are not repeated. To provide them immediately in the markets and maintain normal rates of local circulation.
This comes within the framework of the efforts of the Egyptian Medicines Authority to provide pharmaceutical products from important therapeutic groups in order to ensure the health and safety of patients, and to provide for their pharmaceutical needs.
