Former Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman believes Gareth Bale needs to return to the Premier League to get his career back on track.
The Welsh winger has been a disaster in recent years at Real Madrid, where he has only found few minutes in the first team and this situation looks set to change soon.
McManaman believes Bale can return to his best in England, and that the priority for him should be to play regular football.
“I think Gareth Bale could play in the Premier League and return to his highest level. I certainly hope so,” said McManaman first.
“I know he is 31 years old. Of course he’s had a number of injuries, but I don’t think he’s played a lot of football in recent years, so he’s got to be fit and strong.”
“The most important thing for Gareth is to play football and if he’s not going to do it at Real Madrid, then I think he should try somewhere else,” the Englishman concluded. /telegraph/
