A few lucky Taylor Swift fans are scoring face-value tickets to the three Eras Tour shows in New Orleans Thursday, snagging tickets in a quietly-released ticket drop on Ticketmaster.
Such surprise ticket drops are not a new thing for the Eras Tour. Ticketmaster has been known to drop extra tickets after the performer’s team finishes setting up the stage, squeezing in a few more seats than were originally sold.
Tickets were available for all three concert nights as several thousand Swifties waited in the queue for their chance at seats.
The drops happened for all three nights of the Miami shows last week and for a number of concert locations during the first U.S. leg of the pop superstar’s tour.
Access to the ticket drop was limited to fans who first received verified fan access to the New Orleans concert sale. That means not just anyone was able to get into the queue for tickets.
More tickets drops could happen in the coming days for the other nights of Swift’s shows.
Prices of resale tickets
For those who weren’t lucky enough to secure seats in the ticket drop, there are still lots of Eras Tour tickets left on the secondary market, if you’re willing to spend big bucks.
Most tickets in the Upper Terrace section were going for $1,200 minimum on SeatGeek and StubHub as of Thursday.
Floor seats were listed for $2,000 to upwards of $4,500.
