Samir Zakaria explained The Upper Egypt train station is considered a qualitative leap in the railway system, and comes as a continuation of the development of the system, as it accommodates the largest number of passengers compared to the Ramses station.
The senator said that the Bashteel train station Added value to the national economy, as the station was established with a Pharaonic character and included shops selling antiques, and others for clothing, restaurants, cafes and brands. All of this represents an important investment aspect, which will be followed by providing many job opportunities and opening the doors of livelihood in an organized manner.
 
He also pointed out that the station is equivalent to three times the Ramses station, as it is located on an area of 57 acres, and can accommodate 250,000 passengers daily, and contributed to providing more than 7,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, and was established in the Pharaonic style. It contains Pharaonic obelisks, and the station operates electronically, including gates, guidance screens, ticket machines, and “Wi-Fi.” Air conditioning on all floors, an extinguishing system, and an automatic fire alarm.
